Performance-Installation
Identical Twins and simetry axis are used in this series to create points of reference. This references allow the viewers to compare similarities and differences in the surrounding spaces. The mirror effect lets us experience how easily the brain creates illusions out of simple stimuli. |
HERE THERE NOW was made for the festival FUTURE NOWS by Institut für Raumexperimente. It interacts with Mies Van der Rohe's Neue Nationalgalerie and David Chiperfield's installation "Sticks and Stones". |
Identical twins stood and circulate the inner and outer space of the gallery playing with the illusion of a mirror. The twins performed the same actions at the same time, pretending to be the same person. Differences and similarities of the inner and outer space influenced the course of actions pushing the twins to adapt and try to keep the illusion going.
The piece plays defying the traditional laws of physics according to which a body can not exist in two places at the same time. The similarity of the twins allows them to become a reference point to compare similarities and differences of two different locations. |

ABOUT THE LAWS OF CHANCE |
Installation
Identical Twins created a center of perfect symetry that "fades out" and integrates in the surrounding space. The twins lay still on the ground as if they were sleeping. |
